Frigg is the wife of Odinn and mother to Baldr – god of light. She is said to be raised by the witches, of course being a witch (völva) herself. Frigg is a patron of mothers, and she is invoked for safe childbirth. She is a weaver of fate, thus she knows the fate of all beings, the most simple yet the strongest power of her seidr (magic). She is the goddess of foresight and wisdom. She dwells at the halls of Fensalir where she wept after the foretold death of her gleaming and beloved son Baldr. Her tragedy lies in knowing all things and yet not being able to change the course of Wyrd (fate). Her energy is invoked for child’s healing, for sending love and gratitude towards own mother, for foresight, knowledge of the future and for the ability to see the fleeting threads of destiny and individual fate.
