Mars in Signs and through the Houses

Aries Mars

Mars feels like itself in Aries, as this is his home turf. Mars in Aries is the image of Ares – the Greek god of war, clad in red armor and cape with massive muscles, strong abs and covered in the blood of his opponents.

I say “opponents” and not ‘enemies’, as Scorpio Mars has enemies and holds grudges, Aries Mars doesn’t hold grudges nor does he consider others his enemies. His war-like supremacy is so ingrained in his psyche that there’s no one he can consider equal so that one can become his nemesis.

This placement doesn’t think, this placement acts first and then lets other things happen later. Aries Mars will rather ask for forgiveness than permission, and even forgiveness is questionable… This Mars placement can be very difficult to handle, and not all people will go along with its shenanigans.

Unlike Libra Mars which is all about keeping the peace and balance between warring sides and people in general, Aries Mars doesn’t care about others nor peace, he wants what he wants, when he wants it, and he will have/take it, no question about it. This placement is definitely not for everyone, and few people will find its pros rather than cons.

This is a highly aggressive and reactive Mars placement. Although it possesses noble qualities like courage, bravery, boldness and the will to act, Aries Mars easily falls into the trap of brute strength and raw power, so when it comes into a position of power, it can rule with the iron fist only, and without any kind of a velvet glove.

Taurus Mars

This placement is very similar to Aries Mars in the heat of the moment when the anger strikes and all hell breaks loose. However, unlike Aries Mars, Taurus Mars is slower to reach that peak and boiling point.

These natives have very strong and durable bodies, they might seem a bit disproportionate or blobby compared to Aries Mars esthetics, but they are insanely strong and pain-tolerant, and beneath the body fat, there are sturdy muscles made of steel.

This is the image of Hercules going through his labors – many men would die at the sight of the first obstacle, but Hercules endured them all with the sheer, brute strength contained in his body, that is the depiction of Taurus Mars. This is the placement of someone who endures and is capable of carrying a massive load on their shoulders.

However, when this Mars angers, it’s not a joke, you should run. These natives stop being responsible for their actions once the white, hot anger overtakes them. Taurus Mars is a very dangerous placement, for like Aries Mars – it doesn’t think when the piping hot emotions boil over.

Taurus Mars is also not aware of its own strength, so it might come to commit manslaughter from a sheer mistake, this is why these natives should be very mindful of their own emotions, body and triggers. Gardening, meditation and pranayama are very useful tools for this Mars to relax, let go and release negative emotions without having to regret his actions afterwards.

Gemini Mars

This is a talkative placement, but instead of words, swords and knives come out of these people’s mouths – “words are my weapons”. Gemini Mars is competitive like Aries Mars, stubborn in their opinions like Taurus Mars and versatile like Pisces Mars, hence – they are a combination of many (dangerous) things tied in one bouquet of poisonous flowers.

This is the image of a Venus Fly Trap – these natives seem relaxed, funny, intelligent and intellectually versatile until you set them off. Once you set them off they can go all night long – debating, humiliating, verbally abusing, destroying and burying the person who set them off.

They are also known for the use of knives and snipers. If Aries Mars is fond of firearms like guns and machineguns, Gemini Mars’ weapon of choice would be a sniper – killing off its opponents with elegance and ease, without breaking a sweat, from a safe (verbal) distance.

Gemini Mars can really manipulate words like no other, and it has the ability to expose and make the best use of people’s flaws and weak points. This Mars placement will win any debate and mentally utterly destroy anyone who opposes him. If they are left to their own devices, unprovoked and unchallenged, this Mars placement is quite easy to get along with and they know how to have fun any time and in any setting.

This is why you can often hear rap music blasting from their speakers – they live for that rush of a freestyle (verbal) battle, and battle of wits and humor combined in one tight beat. You have to admit, it’s pretty hard to compete with a mastermind like that.

Cancer Mars

Mars is in fall in Cancer, thus it doesn’t feel good in this sign. This is why these natives are so prone to passive aggression and uncontrollable bursts of violence when others least expect it. This Mars is prone to self-harm whether consciously or unconsciously, these natives tend to harm their inner self and being with the accumulated negative emotions and unexpressed anger.

This is the image of Prometheus chained to a rock and having his liver eaten by an eagle day after day. These natives perceive any form of negative tone or snide comment as a very personal attack, and they’re unable to let it go hours and even days after the incident, but instead of “clearing the air” like Aries Mars would do (immediately), these natives let the negative emotions simmer and boil inside of them, until they snap and let it all out, usually on the wrong person or at the wrong time.

It’s not easy living with a placement like this, and it’s sad, but a majority of domestic violence cases have this placement heavily aspected. This is not a good placement to cheat on or to piss off repeatedly just because their response was absent the first time.

This is how mass shootings happen – quiet people who take all the bullying, pain and suffering in silence, until one day they’ve had enough and decided to take justice into their own hands. They keep wondering why is it so hard to be kind and thoughtful, and how can it be so difficult to respect others and behave nicely.

These natives have a good heart, but they find it extremely challenging to express their Martian urges in a direct and “right” way, which is why they have it 10 times harder with negative emotions than other Zodiac signs.

Leo Mars

Now, this is a happy-go-lucky Mars placement. Leo Mars is the image of a showman. Image of Michael Jackson stepping on stage in front of the sea of fans (4 million to be exact), moving to the slow beat, whipping his head left and right and people being carried out of the stadium because they fainted at the sheer sight of him. This is the vibe of MJ taking off his fabulous sunglasses very slowly in order not to kill anyone.

This Mars placement was born to be wild, to entertain, be worshipped and to dazzle with its stage presence. These natives are too grandiose, fabulous and popular to have enemies, but they have them – a lot because jealousy is a big theme with this placement.

Leo Mars doesn’t stoop to that level of addressing its opponents, instead what they do is become even more popular and famous (and hated on), and that’s how they get back at their enemies. Leo Mars is that one kid that wears a tiara to class, and no one says anything about it, not even the teachers. This kid knows in its heart that it was born to shine and bring light to other people’s lives with its stage presence.

This placement is prone to acting, and although they despise addressing their “lower” emotions (like anger and jealousy), like any other Fire sign – they successfully drain it out of themselves through physical movement, and Leo Mars loves to dance, to do stage acrobatics and to move vigorously.

They too, tend to bottle up emotions, similarly to Cancer Mars, but unlike Cancer Mars and alike Aries Mars, Leo Mars knows how to creatively and positively release all those bottled-up emotions and insults.

Virgo Mars

Virgo Mars is a placement that focuses all its might and libido on success. These natives are goal-oriented and they have a very strong and disciplined work ethic. They despise lowly behavior and uncontrolled reactions (and emotions), thus they are one of those people that can’t stand Aries Mars natives.

This Mars placement is very similar to Scorpio Mars in the way it operates – incognito, from the shadows and below the radar of its enemies. And I say ‘enemies’ for in order to get on this Mars’ radar, you have to do something that highly offends them, personally.

This is a very analytical Mars placement, they are good with strategies, devising plans and calculating success rates and probable failures. This is why it’s very dangerous to cross Virgo Mars, they will plot and plan your demise, and once it hits you, you won’t even know who is responsible for it.

This is the image of a beautiful hitman who kills only through the use of untraceable poisons. This “silent” killer masks his assassinations as natural causes of death, and no one can ever catch it. If you watched Dexter, then you already have a perfect picture of what’s it like to have Virgo Mars – precise, exact, meticulous and punctual, with no room for a mistake, and no room for remorse.

This is a very productive and reliable Mars placement, although stuck up. If you need help with something, feel free to ask this placement to “rescue you”. But remember to always be polite and verbally accommodating.

Libra Mars

Mars is in detriment in Libra, he feels frustrated and obstructed in the sign of Saturn’s exaltation. Mars is the planet of action, but in Libra, its impulses remain dormant and subdued due to the mental weighing that is so characteristic of Libra.

This is the image of a frozen cake – you want to eat it, you can’t wait to eat it, you can see and smell all the sugary goodness inside the frost, but you can’t taste it because it’s frozen, and it’ll need time to thaw. And once it thaws – the taste won’t be the same, or as the good as it was freshly made. That is the detriment and demise of Libra Mars.

One thing that these natives have going on for them, is the power and sound of their voices. With their voice and their cunning speechcraft, they can move armies. They are great public speakers and motivators, they instinctively know how to rile up a crowd and mesmerize it into doing their bidding.

If all the other Mars placements are flavors of killers and hitmen, then this Mars placement is the symbolism of the person ordering a killing. Libra Mars won’t get its hands dirty, oh no, but what they would do is pay someone else to get their hands dirty for them. This is sort of a cunning placement, but at the same time, it isn’t.

Libra Mars is always weighing up and down, up and down, as if on a real scale. They measure their every word, tone of voice, sentence and action. Mars hates it here, but he complies because he knows he doesn’t have the attributes and (raw) power to act otherwise, so he suffers in silence.

Scorpio Mars

Here’s another sign where Mars feels exceptionally good, as it was this sign’s ruler as well, before the discovery of Pluto. This is the image of Count Dracula at its finest when he sees Mina in the street for the first time and whispers to her “see me. Now!” and she looks at him and is immediately struck with love.

This Mars kills in silence, and not only that, but it drains its enemies slowly, on a straw, of their life essence and blood. This Mars placement is all about taking revenge and enjoying serving it ice cold. Unlike Aries Mars, Scorpio Mars dwells and operates from the shadows. Although its ferocity and cruelty far exceed that of Aries Mars.

The only time they kill and act rashly is in the shadows when there aren’t many witnesses. They always have their self-perseverance in the back of their head, thus their subconsciousness is programmed to always take into account their highest good.

Unlike Aries Mars, Scorpio Mars won’t act unprovoked, these natives prefer to be left alone and at peace in their shadows. They love the dark kiss of night and they feel at home in darkness, but if you crawl up their personal space, ask too many (intimate) questions and stick your nose where it doesn’t belong, be sure that Scorpio Mars will risk coming out into the daylight just to get you when you least expect it.

Scorpio Mars is the calculated but messy killer, a killer that kills from and with passion, and takes souvenirs (hearts, livers and kidneys).

Sagittarius Mars

Watch out everyone, we have a social justice warrior over here! Sagittarius Mars is that one guy who likes to play the judge and who likes to preach from his soap box. This is the image of the reverend who gives out Hail Marries after a confession, but he, himself, goes out to casinos and strip bars on the weekends.

This is the image of Charles Manson – leading a cult of mentally unstable individuals, preaching his ideals and logic, but never actually doing anything convictable himself, in most cases. In those, rarer cases, this is the image of Edmund Kemper – a highly charismatic, funny and intellectual serial killer who is friends with everyone and everyone likes him, but in his spare time he murders people in cold blood.

Sagittarius Mars is a highly volatile Mars placement. These natives have unstable urges and needs, they are very sensitive to social justice questions and animal cruelty at times, but at other times, they can agree with some of Stalin’s ideologies and think in very “black or white” terms.

It’s very important for Sagittarius Mars natives to have regular physical exercise and energy output in order to prevent their highly flammable temperament and nature from spontaneously combusting and taking down anyone and everyone who happened to be in their proximity.

Capricorn Mars

Here we have an exalted Mars; thanks to Capricorn’s willpower, strength, discipline, endurance, perseverance and courage Mars finds its exaltation here. Capricorn’s sturdy and stern Saturnian nature offers Mars the best chances and opportunity to finish what his initial flame has started and to reap the well-deserved rewards after the undertaking has been done.

This is the image of Frodo and Sam taking the ring by themselves to Mordor. And when Frodo’s will and body were ready to give out, just outside of the Mt. Doom’s throttle, brave Samwise took on both the weight of Frodo and the Ring and carried them to the entrance – now, that is the spitting image of Capricorn Mars.

These natives know enduring and suffering, and still manage to find something positive and enlightening in every test. If all other signs are in the killer business, then this Mars placement is the one owning the site/company that orchestrates and matches the clients with the hitmen, business. This is the CEO of all operations.

Capricorn Mars doesn’t give up, and his temper is also not something to forget about. He might not be brash and blinded with his emotions like Aries, Scorpio or Taurus Mars, but he knows how to hit most effectively and where to hit in order to quickly overtake and incapacitate his opponent.

Similar to Aries Mars, Capricorn Mars doesn’t have enemies as his sights are set beyond such petty quarrels, but similar to Scorpio Mars, he too has many enemies that have taken him on as their nemesis due to his posture, success and preservice.

Aquarius Mars

Here we have an odd one. Mars coupled with Uranian features can be a highly volatile and explosive character. This is the image of the Zodiac serial killer – someone who is highly intelligent and invents their own cypher/language and style, and someone who can’t be caught despite leaving all the clues and breadcrumbs for the authorities to find him.

This is also a serial killer who can do a “batch” of killings, then stop and be inactive for many years (even decades) and then do another batch because he felt like it.

These natives have a very intellectual and progressive nature; their sight is on something that no one else even thinks about. Aqua Mars feels the need to stand out, to have fingers pointed at him and call him odd names. Alas, because he is so odd and ahead of his time, people usually don’t pay any attention to him until he does something futile like a string of serial killings, and he hates people for giving attention to that kinds of acts instead of investing their energy into something more spectacular, intellectual and visionary.

Sometimes, a string of acts coming from an Aqua Mars is just a “Morse code” through which they are trying to communicate something far more important and substantial, however, people are so down to earth and mundane that even then they fail to see the real point behind the coded message.

Pisces Mars

Mars in Pisces feels obstructed and slowed down, as this placement gives focuses on the emotional and sensitive nature of the native. There’s a lot of passive aggression and self-deprecation present in this Mars placement.

This is the image of Jesus hauling his own cross to be hammered to it in front of everyone, and maybe ten people from the entire crowd get his point, others are just throwing stones and vegetables at him. This Mars is quite similar to Aqua Mars, but unlike its highly expressive and volatile nature, Pisces Mars will turn all its negativity and hatred towards itself.

This is the image of a man big and strong as a bull being bullied by someone who is half his size and of a weaker heart, but their mind is more ferocious and calculating. Small and puny Virgo Mars man-handling big, buff Pisces Mars with ease, that kind of atmosphere we have with this placement.

These natives need to learn how to express their negative emotions, and they should vent properly. They fear hurting others more than hurting themselves, which is why martial arts as a form of expulsion of negative emotions is not advised.

Pisces Mars needs a regular form of psychotherapy in order to be able to process and accept their negative emotions in a healthy manner.

Mars in the 1st house

These natives are very combative, it’s part of their personality. They see almost everything as a threat and attack, and they feel the need to constantly protect themselves. In Fire and Air signs, this placement gives a lot of uniformed personnel (military, police, navy). Intensity is what describes them the best.

Mars in the 2nd house

Very goal-driven natives with a plethora of business ventures and opportunities. These natives are also quite fit and know how to stay physically active and disciplined. They know how to get money and they are not always nice about it. Depending on the sign, this placement can give master thieves and burglars.

Mars in the 3rd house

Natives that have a very sharp and loud voice. They easily start fires but rarely put them out. If rap battling was a career these natives would excel at it. They are very combative with their words and can make a person wish they were never born. They love fast driving and should take precautionary measures if they are racing.

Mars in the 4th house

Natives whose childhood resembles a war zone. They grew up in a very active and loud household. They were probably taught survival skills in their childhood and were raised by veterans. They hear a lot of war stories in their childhood, and they have this toughness about them – they would survive in the wild.

Mars in the 5th house

These natives like extreme sports – skydiving, racing, rock climbing, bungee jumping and contact sports. They have fun when they are active, and getting into fights for fun is not a strange concept for them. They are very competitive and like to win whether by supreme brawn or brains. Never a dull moment with them.

 Mars in the 6th house

These are the natives who do things with a little bit of extra force in their day-to-day jobs and chores. Passive aggression is an active theme in this placement. It’s very common for these natives to have a couple of surgeries in their lifetime, and they should really workout regularly in order to excise all that pent-up energy and rage.

Mars in the 7th house

These natives get a thrill out of competing with their partners. They need exciting and interactive relationships, otherwise, they get bored quite fast. These natives find competition to be arousing, and their foreplay may be on the rough side. They are excited by the bad boy/girl vibe and they want to tame their partners.

Mars in the 8th house

Now, this is a perfect placement for a private eye, a paparazzi and a secret service agent. These natives have very intricate and dangerous private lives. They find the regular peace and calm devastatingly boring, and they need to feel they have a higher purpose. They seek a deeper meaning in violent events, they want to understand violence. Very common placement in BDSM fetishists.

Mars in the 9th house

These natives feel the need to travel the world. They are the modern Indiana Jones and Lara Croft types. They go where no one else wants to go, and they find pleasure in discovering buried treasures, maps and knowledge. These natives are most likely to end up in space. Astronauts.

Mars in the 10th house

These are the CEOs, managers and very famous fighters. These natives have a ferocity and hunger in them that makes them #1 in whatever they opt to do. They have the strength to build empires, but also to tear them down. Depending on the sign, these natives can help change the world by unearthing dirt and foul play on the big companies. Corruptions and exploitation are their nemeses.

 Mars in the 11th house

These natives are leaders of their groups. They have the vision, the idea and the means to organize big groups of people to fight for a single cause. Pilots often have this natal placement as well. These natives are a steel hand that rules in a velvet glove. They have the brains and the courage to do what is necessary and what is best for the higher good.

Mars in the 12th house

This placement represents natives that work from the shadows. They are hidden and they pull all the strings. Think big Slytherin energy – they know what’s up and they play their chess moves exquisitely. Very thorough and cunning natives capable of changing destinies without ever being noticed.
