North Node in 1st house: this placement gives codependent behaviors to its natives. People with NN in 1st house lived past lives as a unit with another person/persons. They got used to the support from others and to thinking as a hive mind. Their lesson in this life is to learn how to be self-sufficient, how to have faith in themselves, how to act on their own impulses, and how to believe in their own choices. The lesson here is to learn to judge by yourself. Invest in your own hobbies and interests, follow your own dreams, and go into adventures that call out to you. This, by no means, doesn’t mean “don’t enter and have or believe in relationships”, it rather means “learn to set healthy boundaries between yourself and your partners”, adjust your personal space, make use of your alone time, don’t ask for others’ opinions, instead learn to work and function on your own, and most importantly – learn to love yourself as you would like others to love you. NN in the 1st house natives need to rely on themselves much more than they are used to, they need to be true to themselves and show their true nature with confidence. These natives need to respect themselves, be at the head of their own actions and ideas, and they need to stand up for themselves and their beliefs, even if it seems like they are alone in it. They can become inspiring examples to others with similar lessons, and they can lead by courageous example.
South Node in 7th house: natives feel at home in relationships. They love to share their (entire) life with another person/persons, and they are very comfortable inside a dynamic of “twos”. These natives have lived many past lives as a part of a unit, they were like a bee in a beehive, and they are used to making choices and decisions that don’t affect only themselves. They are very considerate of others, and they love to please others in order to receive gratification for their own acts and choices. Thus, they are prone not to make any single-minded or self-centered choices or actions. The real challenge here is to use the wisdom and learnt lessons from SN in the 7th house and to add to the new lessons that need to be learned from the NN in the 1st house. The right answer is the balance between the two – not being swallowed by somebody else’s desires and thoughts, and not being too self-centered and selfish. The real lesson here is learning to balance the two sides of the same coin and succeeding in being a balanced human being that is not stuck in the gifts of the past, nor is too consumed by the illusions of the future. SN in the 7th house needs not to ravel in the past feels of being supported and cared for by others, instead it needs to find its own legs and learn how to walk on its own. Which can seem quite scary and challenging, but it’s really very rewarding in the terms of freedom and exploration of new options.
North Node in the 2nd house: this placement is a challenging one, as these natives feel the repercussions of their previous actions. They dealt in forbidden knowledge and magic in their previous lives, thus in this life, they are learning how to live “by the rules”. There are strong feelings of being rejected, punished, degraded, looked down upon, and shamed still present in the depths of the subconsciousness in these natives. Thus, they feel as if they are ‘constricted’ in this incarnation. They carry the burden of malevolent deeds from their previous lives, and they are living with it in this one. The “catch” with this position of Nodes is to ‘do what you will by harming none”. This NN placement carries a loss of a close and dear person (or two) in the first half of this life, through which they will learn what it feels like to be hurt on a soul level. These natives need to learn to believe in themselves, in the good in themselves, in their own worth, and that they are worthy even if they don’t use magic or other means to create an illusion of worthiness. This placement also brings massive financial success, under the condition that the natives work for it themselves and they don’t harm others in the process of attaining it.
South Node in the 8th house: this placement brings natives that are proficient in magic use and other occult knowledge. They used metaphysical means in their previous incarnations for their own gain, and they didn’t care who got hurt in the process. These natives also struggled with self-worth and proper self-image. They had trouble with confidence and they didn’t feel pretty or important enough for others to care for them for their true selves. This is why they succumbed to magical enhancements, spells, and improper usage of occult knowledge in order to conceal their flaws and make others care for them. This placement also carries memories of extreme possessiveness and jealousy which might resurface in the current incarnation. This is not a punishment, it’s an opportunity to learn your own values and to learn to cherish yourself in a healthy way. See your own beauty, believe in it, see your own worth, trust in it, and most importantly trust in others that they will not bring you hurt and harm. Instead, believe in them, have faith that love exists and can be given freely, especially to you, because you deserve it, you are worthy of it. Just trust and have faith that all things will end well and that all things can have a happy ending. Fortify that belief with good deeds and selfless actions. Work towards the common good, and bring just acts into others’ lives. Through honest work and an open approach towards others, you can gain much more than you imagined, and it can be much more rewarding than if you made someone do something against their better judgment or free will.
North Node in 3rd house: this placement is one of the “easiest” for the Nodes. They are in domicile on this axis. With NN in the 3rd house, the focus is on communication and it’s on the native to learn how to listen without being bored or wandering in their mind when the conversation is not about a topic that they find interesting. These natives should focus on the warmth of the communication, instead of the depth of the conversation. They feel too strong of a need for freedom, and that’s why they have their fair share of failed partnerships. The ideal partner for them is one who is very communicative and non-judgmental, someone who can be their “partner in crime” in all of their adventures. Later in life, these natives will find themselves in a role of a teacher and someone who transfers knowledge to others. They will be very pleasantly surprised when they discover the joy of being listened to.
South Node in the 9th house: these natives are prone to searching for something “beyond”, that can be another city, country, environment, existing norms… They are looking for a different realm that has higher values and richer knowledge than the one they landed in, in this incarnation. SN in 9th house natives have experience with higher knowledge and acquired wisdom from previous lifetimes. They were very philosophical and religious in nature, and in this life, they find it unpleasantly boring when they have to participate in small talk and listen to shallow or unimportant stories. That’s why they need to learn to be more pleasant and welcoming through their speech. These natives like to focus on the big picture, deeper meaning, and crucial questions that lead to prominent answers. In the first half of this life, they will struggle to come to terms with family visitations, they will be a black sheep of the family. But, their road to success is exactly through communication, no matter how futile and boring it may seem to them – they need to incorporate their wisdom from previous lives into the “small talk” and they should be able to listen to others. Their amassed inner wisdom can help them on their road to better empathy, and in turn, they will be able to help many others by speaking with them and listening to their problems. 9th house is one of the easiest and most pleasant placements for the SN.
North Node in the 4th house: this placement throws the native’s focus on the family. Building a family, treating one’s own family like a pillar that supports the back of the native, and starting a family business is the way to go with this placement. NN in the 4th house can be very successful in real estate, and interior business. These natives are on a quest to find themselves in a family, emotional and professional sense. They don’t like to take the back seat and they don’t like for their achievements to be overlooked, that is a deal-breaker for them. These natives have a chip on the shoulder because they have a score to settle from a previous life, and authorities are on their blacklist. They might experience troubles with their father, teachers, and bosses, and anyone who represents an imposed dominance in their eyes can easily become their target. This is why they should turn to careers where they build something from nothing with the support of their partners and later on the entire family. They need to learn how to shine within the family circle, how to build a harmonious home, and how to be content with the recognition solely from their family. This placement needs to let go of ideas of grandeur and awards for their achievements, they should focus on creating a warm interior where they can have many happy family moments.
South Node in 10th the house: gives their natives fighting spirit. They know how to handle a business and how to climb the professional (and social) ladder. They also have memories of an unsettled score with some authority figure, that could’ve been their boss, employer, father, or even (in the long-gone times) an owner. So, these natives come with a chip on their shoulders in this life, and many of them experience anger issues. They are born fighters and they know how to succeed. But in this life, their purpose is to let go of the past, to let go of the hurt, and to manage to succeed in a homelier, pleasant side of life. They should go on road trips, they should build their own house, should spend time with their family, should be romantic, and express warm emotions in cozy environments. These natives can easily fall prey to their own need to shine and outshine their father (or an older brother/sister), to settle a score from the past, which leaves them stuck, unable to progress forward in the now. That’s why they should avoid thinking (and living) in the past. These natives should let go of all the grudges and need to make a professional presence, instead, they should focus on enjoying the now and living in the moment.
North Node in the 5th house: these natives love to daydream and let others think about problems. Their dreams and plans are a tad bit too grandiose for their abilities, which is why they should practice grounding. Building a daily routine and implementing discipline in executing daily tasks can be very beneficial and character-building for these natives. They need to learn how to deal with reality and very real problems that can arise, instead of giving up and letting someone else deal with the emergency. These natives should entertain others, they should spend a lot of time with children (not necessarily their own), and learn from kids how to be adults. Children can teach them how to observe the world with curiosity and how to approach new lessons and knowledge with enthusiasm, which might help our natives to implement objective thinking and useful problem-solving in their daily routines. These natives should not use others for achieving their goals, which leads them farther away from their karmic path. These natives should focus on the power of manifestation and visualization, they have great potential and talent to make their own wishes come true via these techniques. But they should not forget about the actual work and logical problem-solving skills, of course. These natives came here to create and to entertain, if they implement discipline in their routines they can achieve great heights. And they will experience great joy from their children or kids in general.
South Node in the 11th house: karmic heritage leads these natives to extensive daydreaming and escapism from reality. These natives hold a deep memory of a past love(r) that was so divine and pure, that this creates a gap between real possibilities in this life and their fantasies. They are disappointed with every partner they find in this life because they always hoard that memory of a greater and better love from a past life. These natives hold a key to success in themselves, they just need to implement daily actions and routines that will lead them on their road to greatness. They should also work on developing greater manifesting and visualizing skills, that will aid them greatly on their path to fulfillment. 9th house natives should approach love life and relationships with a bit more realistic approach, that focuses more on what’s in front of them rather than what they hold dear and sacred in their imagination. Some natives with this placement don’t have children of their own, which is somewhat peculiar, but they find great joy in children in general and can be exceptional in taking care of children.
North Node in the 6th house: these natives came to learn how to have faith in themselves and how to implement meditative techniques to daily routines. What is so special about these natives is the fact that they hold the power of creating a reality within themselves. They just need to believe in themselves and their own abilities. These natives mustn’t use negative affirmations and have negative thought processes because their thoughts easily become reality. They should focus on positive affirmations; their every day should begin with the phrase “today is the best day of my life!” The power of belief is strong in them, as is the power of 2nd sight and intuition, they just need to implement it into their thought processes and the actual work they do day-to-day. Having sticker notes with bright colors and positive words can help them out a lot. Organizing things into beautiful shapes and pastel colors can have an overturning effect. They just need a bit more trust and faith that all will be well and that all will end well. These natives should stop dreading responsibilities and they should grow their patience. Overthinking and scary thought processes are something new to them, so they also need to learn how to deal with that, and how to turn it into something positive. These natives need to learn to manage their own fears and doubts, because only then will they be able to achieve happiness on a daily level.
South Node in the 12th house: this placement has a meditative effect on its natives. They remember a calmer life, a life spent in mediation, seclusion, and introverted manners. These natives were gifted astral travelers, their imagination was in overdrive, and they were able to manifest whatever they wanted into reality. These natives tend to feel secure and safe in closed spaces, in limited company, and in their dreamland. They are also prone to oversleeping. This is why they should use these extensive spiritual talents that they mastered in previous lives in the current incarnation to make a complete version of themselves. They can become very powerful and efficient if they combine meditative techniques and spirituality with their daily lives. These natives can achieve outstanding productive stages, only if they remember to have faith in themselves and if they often remind themselves that the universe is working in their favor. Subscribing to ‘the Universe’ emails and daily notes can be a turning point for these individuals, as it’s all it takes for them to create a nice reality – a nudge or a small reminder that they are creators of their life and destiny. Fake it until you make it – a smile, a positive attitude, and calm thoughts should be a very productive mantra for these people.
North Node in the 7th house: this is one of the more challenging placements for the Nodes. Here, the natives have to learn to approach life from a shared point of view. They need to let go of their strong ego, and self-sufficiency in order to learn how to truly and freely be in harmony with one another. Their learning path is through relationships with others, they need to learn to give rather than ask and demand. They also need to learn how to focus more on the other person, rather than themselves. They are full of fears of losing themselves and like to rely on themselves much more than it is healthy because they are doing so from a place of fear. These natives should learn how to be humbler, and how to be of service to others. NN in the 7th house individuals should also learn to let go of a behavior program where they feel “underpaid” and “undervalued” for their services. They need to learn how to give “for free”, and how to give from a place of kindness and empathy, rather than personal profit. They have the ability to see profit in everything, especially in others, and that is not a way to go around in this life. They need to become relaxed in the presence of others, and they need to let others be themselves around them, in order to achieve some happiness. This is a very challenging placement because natives can form a feeling of being eaten slowly from the inside in the favor of another person. That is only a malformed illusion, they need to break it in order to break free and truly be happy with another person since they mastered being happy alone.
South Node in the 1st house: natives are extremely focused on themselves. There’s a lot of possessiveness and neediness present in them. Even when they give attention, love, and free time, they experience a desire to be “paid” for it. They find it extremely challenging to be in a relationship where there is equal give-and-take exchange. They need to learn how to nurture and grow their relationships with spontaneity and without stone-cold calculations. These natives feel the need to protect themselves first, and they have the need to come first in every relationship. They battle jealousy, too. They smolder their partners and they have the need to be their partner’s center of attention at all times, which is unrealistic and unhealthy. The frequent aftermath of these behavioral patterns is a tyrannical approach. When these natives love someone they squeeze the life out of them, in slow motion, and their partners can become very tired of them pretty fast. Many things that they do (on their own, and by themselves) are not necessary, at all, and they are prone to overworking and exhaustion. Which is totally unnecessary and all they need to do is relax, surrender control and learn how to share more and better. These natives need to learn to live from the “we” point of view and forsake the “me and only me” perspective. They also should be considerate and kind towards others as they are towards themselves. The karmic goal for these natives is spontaneous generosity.
North Node in the 8th house: these natives need to learn to surrender to transformation. They are tasked with learning how to be metaphysical alchemists and how to transmute negative into positive, and destructive learning. They should refrain from overindulgence in the hedonism of the senses. 8th house NN natives should attain occult knowledge and dabble in magic. BUT, they shouldn’t use it to disrupt the natural (fated) order of things too much, and they most definitely should not use it for overpowering personal gain, or they will pay for it in the next life. These natives also need to learn to let go of the idea that they should be served first and that the biggest piece of cake should go to them. They were praised and awarded a lot in their childhood, for every good grade, every little thing they did, a bit like dogs and treats, and they developed an addiction to that feeling. This is obstructive to their adult life, and they should unlearn this. They need to be able to be objective, especially towards themselves, and they need to let go of ideas that others should break their back for them while they sit back and relax, or invest minimal effort. Their purpose is to develop supernatural gifts and use them to help others there where no one else can. They are able to see the things that do not meet the eye on the surface, and they see sense and patterns where very few others can, thus they should use those talents to help others undergo transformations and dark times. There are a lot of good qualities and gifts present in this placement, but there’s also a lot of (home)work to be done in terms of releasing some bad programs and preconceived beliefs that aren’t serving them anymore.
South Node in the 2nd house: natives tend to excess in hedonistic indulgences and satiating the senses before everything else. They can be obsessed with attaining, enjoying, and getting material goods, which can be detrimental to their relationships and personal growth. 2nd house SN natives’ cardinal sin would be gluttony or greed. With their spoiled and egocentric behavior, they risk becoming friendless and lonely. These natives need to learn to give freely, especially in the field where they feel that they are most deserving. And they should stop expecting rewards and counter-services for every little deed they do and the favor they indulge in. These natives need to distance themselves from materialistic gain and they need to eradicate their possessiveness. The lesson for them is to find joy in small things, things that are immaterial but mean a lot. Once they learn how to adapt and orient towards the wishes of their loved ones they can get so much more than they ever imagined. These natives must learn how to be humble and how to curb their own appetites. Letting go and learning how to adapt to others’ needs is crucial for 2nd house SN placement.
North Node in the 9th house: this is one of the more pleasant and easier Node placements. Natives of this side of the NN axis should find the courage to leave their hometown, country of origin, and the same faces that they grew up with. There is an adventure, deeper meaning, broader knowledge, and fulfilling relationships waiting on them in the white world. They should follow their dreams, be bold and go abroad. These natives will benefit greatly from experiencing new cultures, and foreign lands and making new friends. They need to let go of the fear of “what will people say”, especially their family and neighbors, and they should free themselves because everything they want and dream of is out there. Foreigners will have a crucial effect on their lives, they should strive for connections with deeper meaning, relationships that run deep and do not focus on the surface level. Their karmic goal lies in attaining honest, deep communication with others, and that special someone, for them, is most certainly going to be a foreigner. Someone who comes from a distant land, and a very different culture. They need to separate themselves from shallow people and mainstream culture, their path lies in self-exploration and exploring the world’s mysteries. These natives are destined to be nomads that acquire gems of knowledge throughout the world.
South Node in the 3rd house: natives have a tendency to pay too much attention to what people will say. They fear gossip and stirring the water. They might experience communication problems which will lead to them leaving their birthplace or job. These natives feel safe in their own ‘garden’, and are prone to being introverted. This is not bad, but considering that their fate lies elsewhere, they might want to work on that. These natives need to distance themselves from the world that values superficial and shallow effects. Traveling and moving abroad will expand their horizons, break their prejudice and shake their core values that, as it would turn out, have been very close-minded and wrong. By leaving their old connections and life behind, they will manage to conquer new horizons. These natives might suffer a loss when it comes to fake (old) friends. They will also experience conflicts with family and siblings. They need to turn a deaf ear to gossip and not have a care in their heart when such dealings are in question, because those things lead them away from their karmic path.
North Node in the 10th house: this placement requires its natives to forge their own career paths and confidence. They need to separate from a family business and from the wounds that they carry from their original family. Due to the inharmonic childhood environment in which they grew up, 10th-house NN natives seek protection and affection from their own families. Instead of becoming responsible, worthy adults that can be the pillar of their own families, they tend to moan and expect to be protected by their families. And that is one of the main mistakes they make with this placement – they create their own family in order for them to be their safe haven. They smolder their partner by seeking comfort and constant security from them. And that is where they go wrong. Their karmic lesson with this placement is to learn how to let go of the past; they need to detach from their original family, they need to break free, stop seeking security in others and create security and bread for themselves. This is not an easy placement, and this one carries a lot of family baggage with it, but this is their opportunity to make it big and go home to their loving family afterward, all on their own. They should create their own (successful) family business that their children will continue on, instead of remaining in the unfulfilling family business that was started by their original family. These natives need to learn how to be responsible adults that can take care not only of themselves but of their own families, too.
South Node in the 4th house: these natives had a bad childhood and heavy experience with their family. They suffered because of the turbulent relationship with their parents, they felt a lack of warmth, support, and emptiness. At least one parent was too cold or absent from their life. And that is the crucial moment that defined their adult behavior. The aftermath of such a childhood is feeling insecure and that’s why they want to create a family of their own that would protect their fragile personality. If they succeed in this, it tends to turn out bad, because they become codependent and build fences that separate (and protect) them from real life and stop them from growing up. In order for their marriage to be a successful one, these natives need to learn how to participate actively in adult life, with all of the responsibilities and obligations, which are a shared burden. They shouldn’t dump their share of the load on their partner’s plate, instead, these natives need to learn to work past their trauma and become full-functioning adults that can support their partners and be the pillar of security for their families. These natives need to face life and its challenges realistically, and they need to open themselves up to the world and all experiences that it can bring.
North Node in the 11th house: this placement requires its natives to find fulfillment and meaning in honest and deep friendships, rather than fake love relationships. These natives have a whole world of noble, humane, and deep(er) relationships to discover that are based on shared camaraderie and goals instead of romance and superficial love interests. Life will lead these natives to participate in club activities, associations, humane missions, and volunteering actions. They will have the chance to meet many interesting people that will enrich their personal lives beyond their imagination. But, they should be mindful not to engulf and smolder their friends with their pathetic and dramatic stories of their ex-partners and love life. These natives should focus their minds on noble causes that will elevate their personal frequency to a higher state of being, rather than on retelling the stale stories of their love conquests and fallen marriages. They should choose their partners based on their true qualities, shared interests, high morals, and firm characters, not based on the illusion of fake glory that will a relationship with a certain person bring them. This is not a challenging Node placement, these natives just need to let go of their ideas of glorified relationships, they should definitely not read and watch Twilight too much, and they should choose their partners based on their actual good qualities. There are a lot of positive and rewarding experiences in store for these natives, they just need to look deeper into the relationships they form.
South Node in the 5th house: these natives are used to gossiping about their love life. They feel the need to satiate their image with prestige (that is often fake in nature), and they forget to truly invest in their relationships along the way. It’s as if they are on a crusade for that glorified partner. They want to be talked about, they want to be noticed and they want to have a shiny trophy beside them. This is not all bad, it’s okay, many people do that and want that, it’s just these natives need to let go of that in order to fulfill their karmic path. These natives fed on the shine that their relationships brought them in their past lives, and that feeling stuck with them. As soon as their partner loses his shine, that person stops being interesting and natives want a breakup. And they often attract partners that are pathetic and prone to drama. Natives also tend to acknowledge only their own generosity and how they managed to make the other person happy, not the other way around. These natives fear that they won’t get the place in other people’s lives that they deserve, and that’s why they tend to exaggerate their own qualities and traits. This fear is the reason why they often break up their relationships and frequently change environments and social circles. What these natives need to be careful of is choosing the wrong person, or an unfit person for the wrong reasons. Because they will end up frustrated and unhappy in their marriage and all of that could’ve been avoided if only dared to look deeper and seek more fitting people. These natives should look deeper before committing to a relationship, and they should choose partners that can be their best friend first and lover second.
North Node in the 12th house: these natives need to learn to relax and to have faith in the universe. Their lesson here is to go with the flow, to vibe with their tribe, and to immerse in the flow of fate. They tend to overthink, to sweat blood and tears for others, they have a pattern of overworking themselves for others and they need to learn to change that. There’s a fear present in these natives that if they don’t overwork themselves, and they don’t invest sweat, blood, and tears into the work they do (for someone else) that they won’t be worthy enough, and that they won’t deserve their place in the world. Which is total nonsense, of course. That’s why these natives need to surround themselves with kind and empathetic people that won’t exploit and mistreat them. These natives are also prone to psychosomatic problems, and they really need to learn to relax, meditate and practice proper breathing techniques. Activities like Tai Chi, soul-healing seminars, Yoga, and Tantra retreats can bring wonders into these natives’ lives, and change them for the better in a very meaningful way. 12th house NN natives are mediums, too. Part of their karmic lesson is to believe in themselves so much so that they attain belief in the messages they receive and relay them to people for whom the messages are. They have naturally open 3rd Eye and very vivid dreams. These natives astral travel and have the power to astral projects. These natives lead very rich and exciting spiritual lives, they just don’t tend to talk about it and have a difficult time opening up about it. But it’s crucial for them to share messages they receive as that is also part of their karmic path.
South Node in the 6th house: these natives are very good organizers and workers. They handle pressure and stress very efficiently and are able to produce top-notch results without showing how much that wears them off. They have low self-esteem and they try to justify their existence through hard work and excellent results. They have great traits because the lessons they learnt in their previous lives are very practical and valuable. Alas, it won’t do any good in this life, if they don’t learn to incorporate those valuable traits into the karmic path. 6ht house SN natives need to learn to work for themselves, relax, and exchange a strict daily schedule and routines for more of an organic and go-with-the-flow approach to life. These natives often suffer from job dissatisfaction; it’s either that they work in an unhealthy environment, or they have a tyrannical boss, or they simply dislike the job they’re doing (but the pay is good). The challenge for these natives is to release that unsatisfying job, change that unhealthy environment and sue their boss for overworking them. Their lesson is to accept that they are worthy and of high quality. These natives should learn to live through the emotions as they arise and come, and release them openly as the emotions try to go. They should not organize them in small drawers that they keep in the back of their mind and label them as “deal with later”. Because “later” may never come. They need to be mindful of their health, they tend to forget that they are human and that they need regular and proper servicing (spas, massages, vacations, holidays, and special retreats). They need to give themselves permission to be human and to explore their own emotions, dreams, and visions that they most certainly have, but do not talk about.
North and South Nodes are like a compass around which the whole natal chart revolves. Their lessons should be taken seriously and followed through. If we, as natives, achieve the balance between the NN and SN in this incarnation we won’t have to repeat the lessons in the next life, and we’ll be free to begin a new cycle.
That is why NN and SN placements are very important and should be explored thoroughly, if we approach their axis with an open mind and heart, we will be able to overcome the lessons they impose easier and with a better accepting rate. Some people have a strong resistance towards NN lessons and want to remain in the SN – where they feel comfortable. This leads to repetitive lessons and accumulation of karma that will have to be dealt with in the next lives.
